It is with a heavy heart that we report the passing of one of our FHS Class of 1988 classmates. Marty Coughlin died last weekend in Arizona. The obituary is listed below.
COUGHLIN, Martin R., Jr. (Marty) - Age 39, died Saturday, March 28, 2009 in Phoenix, Arizona. Marty was born October 4, 1969 in Flint, the son of Vicki and Martin (Ray) Coughlin. He was an avid sports fan. Marty moved to Phoenix two years ago. Surviving are his mother, Vicki Coughlin; sisters, Angela (Paul) Donar, Ali (Mike) Strickhouser; children, Kaitlyn, Zachary and Madisyn Coughlin; nieces and nephews, Colin, Matt, Andrew, Sam and Audrey; grandmothers, Fay Miller and Dolores Coughlin; special friend, Rachel Danley. Marty was preceded in death by his father, Martin Coughlin Sr. and grandfathers, Earl Miller and Donald Coughlin. Friends may visit the family from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday at Brown Funeral Home. A Rosary will be prayed 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Mr. Coughlin will lie in state at church from 10 a.m. Saturday until the time of mass. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 a.m. Saturday, April 4, 2009 at St. John Catholic Church in Fenton. Fr. Ken Coughlin will officiate. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the family.
